The Red Route

An off road pram friendly path

The Peace Labyrinth

The Red Route:

This 1.2 mile circular route is all terrain pram friendly and is a lovely walk to enjoy with the whole family. On a dry day you would manage this walk with any pushchair, there are only a few sections that can get boggy. Don’t forget to keep your eyes peeled for the Peace Labyrinth on your way round, the children had great fun trying to find their way back out of the maze! The route itself begins at the gate at the far side of the car park, the opposite end to the visitors centre. However, as this is a circular route, you could begin the walk from either the visitors centre or the gate signposted for The Labyrinth. The walk is clearly signposted throughout with red arrows.

The Blue Route:

This 0.3 mile circular route is a wonderful walk for those with little legs! This couldn’t be more perfect for toddlers, the short distance prevents them from getting too tired and there are lots to see along the way. Starting at the picnic benches, close to the visitors centre, follow the blue arrows throughout the walk to navigate this route. On a dry day you would be able to manage this walk with a pushchair, if the weather is wet then an off road pram would manage with ease.

The Yellow Route:

Again this 0.3 mile route is perfect for toddlers, or children unwilling to walk far. This ten minute walk through the woods is a great way to explore nature and to enjoy the history behind Hadrians Wall. There are often many walkers heading through this route whilst on their Hadrians Wall quest – it is amazing to hear their stories! The route is clearly marked with yellow arrow way markers, you can begin this walk either at the visitors centre or the gate at the opposite end of the car park.
