Longtown: Our Walks of Life
Longtown Community Centre, alongside The Hiking Household, have developed a series of 5 nature trail maps to help explore Longtown and the district area. The maps focus on the history and community of Longtown and the natural habitats of the area. The maps, aimed at all ages from young to old, have been produced in partnership with Longtown Community Centre with funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Each nature trail is easy to access, with regular bus routes available. They offer a range of routes from short to slightly longer, as well as a mixture of terrains. Some of the walks are pram accessible, others require appropriate footwear to manage the mixed terrain.
The maps are free to download and are packed with historical facts, interesting landmarks and exciting new things to learn about the historic town of Longtown. The maps are due to be launched in June 2023!
