Why we love this walk?
This walk is perfect for those with children who are ready for a longer walk but you want to test their walking before committing to a Wainwright walk. It is also a perfect walk if you need something relatively accessible with a clear path throughout, not forgetting the breathtaking views of Ullswater.
Please do take care, correct walking footwear is essential.

The Route.
The Glencoyne to Aira Force trail is a linear route alongside the edge of Ullswater with wonderful views of the lake and fells. We followed the path from Glencoyne to Aira Force. We picked up the path in the far corner of the car park (to the right as you drive in), it’s very easy to follow and you can’t really go wrong. The path is accessible and well away from the road, perfect for little legs. Please be aware you do need to cross one road to reach Aira Force car park. It is here that you will also find a tearoom and toilets.
After a quick rest at the cafe, where they serve wonderful food, we returned the way that we came. You also have the option to visit the waterfall from here, we stopped at the lowest viewing platform due to tired, little legs.
You can include this walk in many of our Ullswater adventures.
