Sizergh Castle:

Sizergh Castle is a fantastic National Trust day out for the whole family. Found in Sizergh, near Kendal, there is a National Trust car park and a fantastic cafe on site. Postcode: LA8 8DZ.

There are many walks to explore while visiting here. You could opt to take the circular walk to Park End Moss, or have a stroll through the stunning Estate to soak up Sizergh’s gardens. Please note as this is a National Trust site there is an admission price for some of the walks.

The Wild Play Trail:

Today we opted to head down to explore the Wild Play Trail. This is a wonderful adventurous walk for children, it is not pram accessible however our nearly two year old managed the course well – you can pick and choose how many of the activities you do.

This lovely 1.3 mile circular route is free to complete and is set in the woods. As you can see from the pictures below there are many things for the children to explore: rock climbing, stepping stones, walking the plank and a rope swing to name just a few.

There are picnic benches for you to enjoy a spot of lunch and some lovely carved trail instructions to keep the older children engaged.

A truly fantastic day out for the whole family, with plenty more to see on our next visit ?.
