Longlands Lake:

Please note Laura and her four children have not walked this walk, photos and words from @whereronniewalked:
Longlands Lake can be found in Cleator Moor, postcode CA23 3AD. This lake is a real haven for all wildlife. There is a parking area near the lake as well as picnic areas, a path that goes round the lake and a separate path which goes to the remains of the old forge, then on to Dent Fell.

The route:

The route that we took was 1.5 miles in total. The walk is a circular route, with seating and picnic tables along the route. We took some bread and fed the ducks and swans whilst there. Ronnie loved exploring the surrounding woods and climbing the trees, then we played pooh sticks on the bridge over the river.
This walk provides a lovely hour out of the house. The walk is known to get quite muddy in sections, so prepare for muddy feet!
This walk is close to Clintz Quarry, one of the other walks that we have previously reviewed, please click here to be redirected to the route.
