Lanty’s Tarn

What a wonderful find! I cannot believe I have never been here before! If you are fancying this walk, especially with your children, then I would highly recommend visiting @taletrailswalks and her website www.taletrails.co.uk as it really does provide all the information that you need.

When we reached Lanty’s Tarn it had such a Harry Potter feel to it! So magical and mystical, and a little bit eerie! We were the only ones there (not surprising really as it was very cold and wet). I cannot wait to return in the summer and spend a full day here with a picnic and so that the kids are able to explore some more!

Lanty’s Tarn itself is not pram accessible, we took both carriers for the younger two as the walk up is a little rocky at times. That being said it isn’t an overly long walk at 1.8 miles and my two boys managed fine, they are 4 and 6 years old.

There is a car park at the bottom of this walk in the village of Glenridding, 13 miles south west of Penrith, postcode CA11 0PD. I hope that you all enjoy searching for this magical tarn as much as my family did.
