Why we love this walk
This walk is an ideal walk for those with children of all ages, the park is fully accessible, flat and the backdrop is beautiful. We love this walk as it incorporates the playground, for the children, with a short walk too!
Please do take care, correct walking footwear is essential. Paths can get boggy at times.

The Route
A short, easy to follow, route that follows the Gaskells Walk signs. Having parked on Caroline Street, we went over the footbridge into the park. Here we went through the park and up the steep steps, where we joined the Gaskells Walk. You can do as much, or as little, as you would like of this walk. We decided to stop at the bench to allow the kids time to play on the park – the children’s highlight!
We retraced our steps, missing out the steps on the way down and instead opting for a rather steep path. We made it safely down and the children enjoyed a play on the park, and the skimming of stones in Wauchope Water, before heading back to our car.
This playground is pram, and wheel, friendly but the walk itself is steep and can get boggy in parts.
