Grizedale Forest

Grizedale Forest offers a fantastic day out for everyone, there are multiple walking trails to choose from – ranging from easy to hard. There is also a visitors centre, play park, GoApe and cycle centre. Car parking is available, postcode is LA22 0QJ and there is a pay on exit car park.

Having spent the morning at @worldofbeatrixpotter we had slightly tired children so we opted for the MillWood long route walk, which is actually extremely manageable. The walk was a very pleasant 1.5 mile loop ending at the play park, the promise of a slide and sandpit is always a great way to keep the kids spirits up when they are beginning to get tired! Keep your eyes peeled for the sculptures which are dotted around the forest!

The MillWood short route would have been pram accessible and I cannot wait to spend more of the summer here exploring the trails that they have on offer. We also promised the boys that we would come back when the GoApe is open! Weekends and school holidays only at the moment.

This walk is part of the Forestry England Woodland Walks. Grizedale is a working forest and therefore some trails can be closed at times due to forest operations, or damage caused by recent storms. For all up to date information on the trails at Grizedale please access the Forestry England website here.
