Barf, Wainwright 9/214

Wowza! This Wainwright is most certainly is NOT pram friendly.

Barf from Powter How, postcode CA12 5SQ, offers free off road parking close to the bus stop for approximately 4-5 cars. There is also a larger car park further along if this is full.

While the route itself is short it is, in parts, a steep scramble to get to the top. Our children definitely found this Wainwright walk the most enjoyable to date – they loved the excitement that it brought and really made them feel as though they were tackling a ‘grown up mountain’.

The views from the summit are breathtaking, many walkers go on to reach Lord Seat from here. Perhaps this will be a challenge for when our little legs get a bit bigger. For now, we are immensely proud of the children for not complaining during this walk and for always facing their fears – and doing it with a smile on their face! Children really are the best, while I’m left at the side of the mountain scared to death!

A wonderful walk, especially for those with slightly older children who may not still get the same buzz out of the smaller walks, or may need a bit of persuading to get out of bed and join the family on a walk… I am treasuring each moment I get with all four of the children while they enjoy my company and enjoy our walks. I know it may not last forever.
