Acorn Bank:

Acorn Bank is a fantastic National Trust day out for the whole family. Found in Temple Sowerby, near Penrith, there is a National Trust car park and a stunning garden to explore. Postcode: CA10 1SP .

There are so many things to explore while you are here. You can visit the old watermill, wander along the beck to see the wildlife in the woods or pop into the wonderful secondhand bookshop.
Today was the start of the Easter Holidays so we tried out the Easter Trail!
Please note as this is a National Trust site there is an admission price.

Easter Adventure Trail:

Today we opted to explore the Easter Adventure Trail, there was a £3 charge for the trail and this included an Easter egg, map of the route, an activity pack and some crayons.

This was such a wonderful walk for the children, we managed with the all terrain pram with ease. A lovely 1.6 mile circular route set in the woods, the detailed map really allowed the children to take control and gave them a sense of independence.

There was a multitude of things to keep children of all ages entertained; we saw flour being made in the old watermill, threw stones in the beck and explored the stunning grounds. The children were amazed at all of the different flowers and herbs and the gardeners were so friendly answering all of their questions.

There are also plenty of picnic benches for you to enjoy a spot of lunch, the activity pack helped to keep all of the children engaged.

A truly fantastic day out for the whole family, with plenty more to see on our next visit.

Please note: this is a fabulous day out for grandparents, or any family members, who are keen gardeners!
