Tarn Hows

Despite the weather we had a wonderful walk and the kids had the BEST time jumping in the puddles and exploring the mini waterfalls that had formed!

Tarn Hows circular walk is a Lake District classic as it is a short walk that is accessible for prams, making it a brilliant family walk. There is a pay & display car park and you get some really special views of the Lakeland fells – whatever the weather!

Tarn Hows is approximately 2 miles long and very easy to navigate – just follow the path clockwise around the Tarn. See The National Trust website for further information if required.

We cannot wait to come back here on a brighter day so the children can explore for longer! On our journey through Grasmere we spotted a lot of wonderful places that we would like to visit, the children were on waterfall hunt from the car windows, they found SO many! We look forward to investigating this side of the Lake District with the children again really soon.
