Lanthwaite:

Please note Laura and her four children have not walked this walk, photos and words from @whereronniewalked:
This walk begins at The National Trust Lanthwaite Wood car park which lies between the villages of Lorton and Loweswater. If you are approaching from Lorton, the car park is on the left hand side, after you have passed the Scale Hill Self Catered Accomodation. At the opposite end of the car park to the entrance, there is a gate that marks the start of the walk.
This walk links nicely with one of our previous walks at Crummock Water, it can be found here.

The route:

This 3.4 mile loop around Brackenthwaite and Lanthwaite is a great walk for a good explore. We saw horses, sheep, cows, a den in the woods, a swing, some lovely bridges across the rivers and streams and some breathtaking views of the fells around us. This is a fantastic walk to keep children occupied as there is plenty for them to see, and do.

See picture 2 for the map of our route ☺️
